Headquarters Pro is a multiplayer game mode for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. It is similar to the Headquarters game mode of the previous Call of Duty installments with slight changes.
Headquarters Pro is played first team to 200 points. The point distribution is as follows:
Capture the headquarters: 10 xp, 5 points. First player to start headquarter the capture gets 250 xp.
Hold the headquarters: 10 xp and 5 points every 5 seconds
Destroy Headquarters: First player to start the destroy gets 250 xp.
Players can also get points for killing players on the other team:
Kill: 50 xp
Assist: 10 xp
At the beginning of a match, or if the headquarters has recently gone offline/been destroyed, a table with a laptop on it will appear somewhere in the map. It will stay inactive for 30 seconds before players are able to begin capturing it.
A week or two after the Modern Warfare 2's release, a Hardcore Ricochet version of Headquarters Pro was released. The rest of the game is exactly the same as the previous games' Headquarters mode.
On 15th December 2009, an unknown modder hacked the playlists containing this gametype, causing all weapons to have an unlimited ammo effect.
Hardcore Ricochet: HQ Pro
Hardcore settings remove your HUD (Heads-Up Display), decrease your health (30%), and eliminate your health regeneration abilities. All of the onscreen intel disappears. You have no crosshairs except what you attach to your weapons, such as scopes. You don't get a timer or clock, and you can't see how many points your team has or how much ammo you have left. The radar/map is disabled by default until you or any one of your team calls in a UAV killstreak. You don't get any indicators, such as a grenade landing near you, and you don't get any text prompts for things like planting a bomb. On top of all those challenges, Hardcore modes usually require only a bullet or two to kill someone. On top of that, friendly fire is enabled so you will kill a friendly when shooting at him. All of these features make the game feel more realistic. You don't empty entire mags into people in Hardcore, and that encourages somewhat more cautious play.
