Search and Destroy:

Rules

1 life per round
2.5 minute time limit per round
5 second arm time for bomb
45 second fuse
5 second defuse time
First team to win 4 rounds wins the match

Objective

Planting team

Eliminate all enemies, or destroy an objective. Plant the bomb on one of two objectives, indicated by an A or B, then defend it until there is not enough time to defuse it. Note that the bomb can kill any nearby enemies, and the person who planted it.

Defending team

Eliminate all enemies, or defuse a planted bomb. Remember that it takes 5 seconds to defuse the bomb on stock settings. Even if all enemies are eliminated after the bomb is armed, the attackers can still win the round if the bomb explodes. Victory is achieved as soon as the bomb is defused regardless of how many attackers are still alive. Defusing the bomb is very loud, and can be heard from quite a distance. If no bomb sites are destroyed, the defending team wins if the time limit is reached regardless of how many defenders versus attackers are left alive.

500 XP per kill
200 XP per assist
1000 XP for a Headshot
1000 XP for a kill in Last Stand/Final Stand
1000 XP for planting/defusing Bomb
For destroying a killstreak reward that can be shot down, multiply the number of kills needed to acquire the killstreak by 175. Example: 175 XP x 3 kills (UAV) = 500 XP.
If you have kills from the bomb exploding, you will gain the regular experience per kill.

Hardcore Ricochet: S&D
Hardcore settings remove your HUD (Heads-Up Display), decrease your health (30%), and eliminate your health regeneration abilities. All of the onscreen intel disappears. You have no crosshairs except what you attach to your weapons, such as scopes. You don't get a timer or clock, and you can't see how many points your team has or how much ammo you have left. The radar/map is disabled by default until you or any one of your team calls in a UAV killstreak. You don't get any indicators, such as a grenade landing near you, and you don't get any text prompts for things like planting a bomb. On top of all those challenges, Hardcore modes usually require only a bullet or two to kill someone. On top of that, friendly fire is enabled so you will kill a friendly when shooting at him. All of these features make the game feel more realistic. You don't empty entire mags into people in Hardcore, and that encourages somewhat more cautious play.

Hardcore Ricochet: S&D is by far my favorite game mode. After all, what better place to use our nnja skills that in a Hardcore S&D match. You have to be sneaky and ambush your enemies. The game play slows down a bit compared to Domination or Headquarters so you have time to employ some actual strategy. The most important thing for HC S&D in my opinion is playing with a team full of people that you know. TEAMWORK is essential. Been playing with a group of ppl for a while and it's always interesting to see how everybody plays a bit differently. It seems like on every team you'll always have your SPAWN TUBER, your RUSHER, your CAMPER, your SNIPER, your GLITCHER, and the one guy that fell asleep while playing, LOL. Of course your strategy changes depending on what map you're playing so I'll become every one of the guys above, except for sleepy, when I'm playing. I'm of course known best for one thing...

CLAYMORES !!!

To me there's nothing more satisfying that hearing that click/boom, except maybe watching it on a game winning kill-cam. I always joke that I get more kills from my claymores after I'm dead that by shooting them when I'm alive.

I like regular s&d, takes more effort on my knfing account, i really hate having no hud :/

It's all about Hardcore for me. I can't stand having to empty an entire clip into an enemy before they die. There are only so many routes ppl can take on each map. You just need to learn the routes for both sides and start cutting them off. Before you know it, your HUD will be useless.

Well I don't get home from work until 5:30 or so. I'm married and unless I want to change my gamer tag from PART_TIME_NINJA to RECENTLY_DIVORCED_NINJA it's important to spend time with the wife. She's great and I only get a few hours to spend with her before she goes to bed, so that's why I'm on the MW2 night-shift. Nnjas only work at night anyway, LOL.
